MICROBE MISSION - Division C

Teams will answer questions, solve problems and analyze data pertaining to microbes.

Added 02/10/12 A question was asked about the above equation which will be part of the Microbe Mission C event on Feb 18.  It was written on a board at our January meeting, and it was then posted on this page 01/26/12 – where it remains.
The event captain has responded with:
K is the growth rate constant as generations per minutes);
1/k = g.t. or generation time (minutes per generation)
Yes, 0.301t is correct;
t= time elapsed between #cells/ml at time zero, and
#cells/ml at time= minutes chosen.
These variables should be chosen during the exponential phase of growth.
