CHEMISTRY LAB - Division C

Teams will complete one or more tasks and answer a series of questions involving the science processes of chemistry focused in the areas of periodicity and oxidation/reduction.

Added 02/15/12 Question: Will reduction potential tables be provided for Chemistry Lab?
Answer: No. There are no questions asking about specific values, just about trends.

Added 01/26/12 Information from the Coaches & Event Captain Meeting Jan. 25, 2012
No googles or lab coat needed.
Written test, multiple choice approx.. 80 questions
Short problem will have multiple choice answers.
Periodic table will be given.

Added 12/05/11 Chem Lab will not have a wet lab, but the students will be given a data set from an experiment and they will interpret the data. There will be a substantial written test as well.

Added 11/14/11 Questions & Answers:
Question: Will there be an actual laboratory part of the event?
Answer: The event captain has not decided yet.   With the time limitation, it is difficult to find a lab that is both quick and significant.

Question: The event description indicates that the questions will be "focused in the areas of periodicity and oxidation/reduction."  Additionally it indicates that scoring will be "Oxidation/Reduction: 50% & Periodicity: 50%".  So I would like to confirm that these will be the only two topics covered?
Answer: Yes
